Not looking good for David Morris. Was breezing through before but now finds himself 0-3...

Ahmed Saif 4-1 Jamie Rhys Clarke
David Morris 0-3 Ross Muir
Ryan Clark 4-1 Zak Surety
Alexander Ursenbacher 4-0 Paul Wykes

Morris has had 4 centuries this event, more than any other player and he looks like getting beat 4-0. Mind you, Ross Muir has had the potential for years so great to see him closing in on his tour spot.

Ursenbacher's decision not to enter the European Championship which starts in a couple of weeks so he could concentrate on Q School (per Swiss Snooker) has paid off - seemed a strange decision to me at the time, now seems like a really good one ...

4-0 barring a lot of snookers. Well done Ross!

A couple of weeks ago Qatar's Ahmed Saif suffered the disappointment of not making it out of the group stages to the Last 16 at the Asian Championship - Boonyarit Kaettikun of Thailand and Hong Kong's Andy Lee qualified from his group, and he was beaten by Pakistans Shahid Aftab ...

Now he's on the Pro Tour. Hitting a run of form can be so important!

It's like exams over coursework isn't it? It'll be interesting to see what happens next year with presumably quite a lot of 2nd of 2 year card players dropping off. Q School with 12 places up for grabs is going to be loaded.

Re: Q SCHOOL 2

Alexander Ursenbacher has been one of the biggest (continental) European prospects for a couple of years. He left school last autumn and concentrated on snooker. I met him in Gloucester and looked like a very focused guy. I didn't expect him to qualify this year with so many top, experienced amateurs, but it's great news for Switzerland and the rest of "small" countries in Europe.

Re: Q SCHOOL 2

Postby Roland

The fact he's so young as well means a lot more than if he was 30 making his debut. He's clearly a prospect and it's great having more European countries represented on tour.

so many players that's got through this time haven't even entered Q School before Hammad Miah, Ryan Clark, Alexander Ursenbacher and Ahmed Saif.

Re: Q SCHOOL 2

Average age of Q School Qualifiers last year was almost 26 after 2 Q School this year the Average is just over 21.

Delighed that these places are going to players from all sorts of countries rather than the usual suspects.

22 countries are represented so far.
