hopefully the 2 old duds take 2 years to finish their game so the tour card has expired :irk:

Joel Walker does it! Former protege of Ronnie, dont know much else about him but at least hes young and its a tour card for someone who hasnt had their time.

Yeah looks like the young Mr. Lawler will do it ;-) But lets face it Delaney is not a better option in that regard!

Re: Q School 2012

Postby Wildey

So Michael Wasley has Qualified for a 2 year Tour card and im sure very satisfying for everyone at SWSA with Michael being their First Venture in to Snooker Management finally gets on the Pro Tour.

Re: Q School 2012

Congrats to the last two qualifiers Wasley and Robbie (!) Williams :chuckle:

Now lets hope World Snooker will reveal the correct Q school OOM , confirms the 99 MT players. After all the season begins next Tuesday

Also wishing World Snooker would sort the Order of Merit, wondering if they've decided or whether they're weighing up the options to see what effect each has !

Ok, so Order of Merit with no frames awarded for walkovers:

1. Jordan Brown 44
2. Scott Donaldson 33
3. Ashley Wright 32 (FD 8)
4. Fraser Patrick 32 (FD 4)
5. Ryan Causton 31
6. Gareth Allen 30 (FD 8)
7. Michael Wild (FD 8)
8. Duane Jones 29 (FD 12)
9. Jeff Cundy 29 (FD 7)
=10. Nick Jennings 27 (FD 5)
=10. Adrian Ridley 27 (FD 5)
12. Gary Wilson 26 (FD 10)
13. Adrian Gunnell 26 (FD 9)
14. Joe Delaney 26 (FD 6)
=15. Greg Batten 25 (FD 9)
=15. Allan Taylor 25 (FD 9)
17. Marc Robertson 25 (FD 5)
18. Lucky Vatnani 25 (FD 5)
19. Justin Astley 25 (FD -3)
20. Ben Harrison 24

And here we are with each walkover treated as a 4-3 win:

1. Jordan Brown 44
2. Scott Donaldson 37
3. Fraser Patrick 36
4. Adrian Gunnell 34 (FD 11)
5. Gareth Allen 34 (FD 9)
6. Duane Jones 33
7. Ashley Wright 32
8. Ryan Causton 31
9. Michael Wild 30
10. Allan Taylor 29 (FD 10)
11. Jeff Cundy 29 (FD 7)
12. Lucky Vatnani 29 (FD 6)
13. Lee Spick 27 (FD 6)
=14. Nick Jennings 27 (FD 5)
=14. Adrian Ridley 27 (FD 5)
16. Gary Wilson 26 (FD 10)
17. Mitchell Mann 26 (FD 7)
18. Joe Delaney 26 (FD 6)
19. Greg Batten 25 (FD 9)
20. Li Hang 25 (FD 8)

Re: Q School 2012

Postby roy142857

Interesting to see who benefits from which method, think roughly:

Without frames for walkovers taken into account, the following are better off – Ashley Wright, Ryan Causton, Michael Wild, Nick Jennings, Adrian Ridley, Gary Wilson, Joe Delaney, Greg Batten, Marc Robertson, Jeff Cundy, Justin Astley, Ben Harrison

With 4 frames awarded for walkovers, the following are better off – Fraser Patrick, Gareth Allen, Adrian Gunnell, Duane Jones, Robbie Williams, Allan Taylor, Lucky Vatnani, Lee Spick, Mitchell Mann, Li Hang

Of course, you could award any number of frames from none to four for walkovers ... had a quick play with treating all walkovers as 1 - 0 wins, and no player is best off by this method (five equal the position they'd achieve with the best of the other alternatives). So maybe a method that's best for no-one is the best way of dealing with this (just a crazy thought). Still particularly bad for Adrian Gunnell because he had two rounds with no opponent. But anyway, the order that way would be:

1. Jordan Brown 44
2. Scott Donaldson 34
3. Fraser Patrick 33
4. Ashley Wright 32
5. Gareth Allen 31 (FD 9)
6. Ryan Causton 31 (FD 5)
7. Duane Jones 30 (FD 13)
8. Michael Wild 30 (FD 8)
9. Jeff Cundy 29
10. Adrian Gunnell 28
=11. Nick Jennings 27 (FD 5)
=11. Adrian Ridley 27 (FD 5)
=13. Allan Taylor 26 (FD 10)
=13. Gary Wilson 26 (FD 10)
=15. Lucky Vatnani 26 (FD 6)
=15. Joe Delaney 26 (FD 6)
17. Greg Batten 25 (FD 9)
18. Marc Robertson 25 (FD 5)
19. Justin Astley 25 (FD -3)
20. Ben Harrison 24

World Snooker will probably decide something completely different of course ...

Wonder what hurts most in this situation, going down 4-0 or going down 4-3 ... painful either way I suspect.

4-3 without doubt

4-0 youd just be snake hissed off and annoyed with yourself but 4-3 youd be reliving misses and knowing you could and maybe should have won so will have more regrets at being so near yet so far.

From a Sheffielder POV, personally delighted that Joel's made it onto the tour. Great little player.

Losing 4-0 and having 4 black ball games and having a shot at the frame ball each frame would hurt.

Re: Q School 2012

Loosing hurts period but losing having had plenty of chances and miss easy balls are a killer thats why Stephen Hendry has had enough

Re: Q School 2012

Wild, if you have the time can you list all of those that won a tour card and of those can you highlight the players that are 23 and under? If you can't get it done it's no sweat. Thanks.

Thanks Wild, apart from Burns, Davison and Lawler it's a good line up.

Re: Q School 2012

Postby roy142857

Davison and Lawler need to up their win rate from last year - 31% and 33% respectively - but a lot of players who were worse than that. I think they've proved in Q School they can still play and are worthy of a place, time will tell if they can do anything with it.
