Re: Q School 2012

Postby kenneth79

Really disappointed that Kyren Wilson didnt get through Q School. I honestly thought he would do it as he is one of the best amateurs. He shouldnt have dropped out in the first place, only did becuse they used the PTC OOM rather than the one year list.

Hope he can gain a tour place during next seasons PTC events where I heard rumours the 8 best amateurs get on for the following season.

Players remaining by frames won :

Jordan Brown 31
Scott Donaldson 28
Gareth Allen 27
Nick Jennings 26
Greg Batten 25
Michael Wasley 24
Gary Wilson 23
Ashley Wright 23
Ryan Causton 22
Adrian Ridley 22
Michael Wild 20
Duane Jones 20
Rod Lawler 19
Jamie Barratt 18
Ben Harrison 17
Chris Norbury 17
Adrian Gunnell 16

Donaldson would be the leader if he had 4 frames for the round where he had no opponent, likewise Adrian Gunnell would move up to 20 frames won.

Just to note I should have had Jeff Cundy on this list too, with 18 frames - with victory this afternoon advances to 22 frames won.

Allan Taylor's win this afternoon moves him to 19 frames, would be 23 frames if they're awarding 4 frames for walkovers ...

Edit: Sorry, added in extra frames for Taylor twice, this actually moved him to 15 frames, 19 if given 4 frames for his walkover

Sydney Wilson edged this morning by Ryan Causton, who moves onto 26 frames won in total.

Adrian Gunnell now shown as walking over David Singh, so appears to be the only player with two walkovers to his name. If they give him 4 frames for each of his walkovers, he's now on 24 frames won, if not he's on 16 frames won and way back in line ...

Re: Q School 2012

Postby roy142857

Really starting to see who might be affected by the different ways World Snooker might decide to handle the Order of Merit, depends on how many places are available, but, for instance, if only one place, then Jordan Brown is in line for it at the moment if no frames awarded for a walkover, but Scott Donaldson gets it if frames are awarded (I'm ignoring Brown's frames from the second round here at the moment, as he's the only player through to the third round).

Based on frames being awarded for walkovers, Gareth Allen gets an invite if there are 3 places available, but misses out if walkovers don't count - not sure if he'd slip to fourth or fifth as I can't see what would separate him from Ashley Wright as I think they have the same number of frames against too.

Duane Jones and Adrian Gunnell tied 11th if walkovers count, 15th and 22nd respectively if they don't. Note that I've given them 4 - 0 wins for walkovers, though thinking about it 4 - 3 may be fairer ... not sure ... certainly gives Gunnell a large frame difference boost the way I did it ... also can see movement further down for Jamie Barrett, Fraser Patrick, Allan Taylor and Joel Walker.

So, hoping I've got the following right (can't believe still nothing on Q School website ...)

The top 20 with no frames awarded for walkovers:

1. Jordan Brown 35 (on 39 with 2nd round win)
2. Scott Donaldson 32
3. Michael Wasley 28
=4. Gareth Allen 27 (FD 9)
=4. Ashley Wright 27 (FD 9)
6. Nick Jennings (OUT) 27 (FD 5)
7. Gary Wilson (OUT) 26 (FD 10)
8. Adrian Ridley 26 (FD 8)
9. Ryan Causton 26 (FD 4)
10. Greg Batten (OUT) 25
11. Michael Wild 24
12. Rod Lawler 23
13. Jeff Cundy 22
14. Ben Harrison 21
15. Duane Jones 20 (FD 9)
16. Chris Norbury (OUT) 20 (FD 6)
17. Marc Robertson 19
18. David Gray 18 (FD 7)
19. Jamie Barrett 18 (FD 6)
20. Shahbaaz Khan (OUT) 18 (FD 2)

and top 20 if 4 frames awarded for each walkover ...

1. Scott Donaldson 36
2. Jordan Brown 35 (on 39 with 2nd round win)
3. Gareth Allen 31
4. Michael Wasley 28
5. Ashley Wright 27 (FD 9)
6. Nick Jennings (OUT) 27 (FD 5)
7. Gary Wilson (OUT) 26 (FD 10)
8. Adrian Ridley 26 (FD 8)
9. Ryan Causton 26 (FD 4)
10. Greg Batten (OUT) 25
=11. Adrian Gunnell 24 (FD 13)
=11. Duane Jones 24 (FD 13)
13. Michael Wild 24 (FD 9)
14. Rod Lawler 23
15. Jamie Barrett 22 (FD 10)
16. Jeff Cundy 22 (FD 7)
17. Ben Harrison 21 (FD 8)
18. Fraser Patrick 21 (FD 5)
19. Chris Norbury (OUT) 20
=20. Allan Taylor 19 (FD 9)
=20. Joel Walker 19 (FD 9)

Edit: missed 3 frames for Joel Walker in event 2, so he should be on the first list with 18, and higher up the second list with 22 ...
