Anekthana Sangnil looks exactly like Noppadol Sangnil. I suspect he's changed his name, in which case it's another former pro in the top half.
Could be his brother though.

Just had it confirmed, he was Noppadol. Changed his name.

Sangnil played well for his win. He was good as anyone I saw in the UK Q School.

Hopefully whoever gets through has no Visa issues and can commit to a full schedule.

Kritsanut Lertsattayathorn in the top half.

And he lost today

just watched Temuujin play reasonably well to win. He lines up and pots better than Keith Keldie did the other night, but I didn't feel like I was seeing a future ranking event last 32 player either.

only 4 centuries in Q Asia #1 thus far in 233 frames, so an average of one per 58.25 frames. I seem to recall that World Champ Quals rd 1 had an average of about 1 in 20 frames that improved significantly as the rounds progressed. Obviously this doesn't disqualify the chance of one player coming through and making an impact, but as a field it isn't the strongest.

Former pro Sangnil looks to be the favourite based on Chengdufans reporting

Muhammad Asif is a strong player too, he has won the IBSF World Championship twice. Maybe it's his opportunity to reach the pro ranks.

Poomjaeng wins 4-1. His performance was decent, but Thor made too many unforced errors.

It would be interesting to see him back on Tour.

If he makes it through, and he’s favourite to do so now having dispatched Thor, hopefully he sticks to playing snooker and cuts the tiresome “comedy” routine.

Nader Jahadi won two matches, but was a no-show for his quarter final with Sangnil this morning <doh>

the makings of a cult hero. the man who never lost but also a narcoleptic who couldn't find an alarm clock that worked for him. (best case scenario here)

With all due respect to this event conceived in good faith hasent exactly worked out has it the Oceania part was a total flop nobody that part of the world entered its turned out to be a thailand/pakistan event.

With the obvious pool of players in China only 1 entered and he couldn't come over to play, which from the off put this on the back foot as a event

The inaugural Asia Pacific championships, where two Hong Kong players were the only non-Australian participants, could be said to have encountered the same difficulty..

Anticipate that these events will be more competitive when Asia and Oceania no longer have any Covid restrictions.

Yea, it would make things much easier when the likes of China and Australia will wake up and stop trying to eradicate a respiratory virus never been done before and never will.
