Poomjaeng wins the first. Thanawat had a chance to take it to a respotted black but missed a difficult last red and stuck it up.

Thanawat misses a black off the spot but flukes the snooker on the yellow. Dechawat pats him on the shoulder on his way to the table

Yes, Thanawat got a professional 147 at the age of 16, still a record.

Thanawat pots the red, wobbling the white in the jaws. Poomjaeng concedes, not fancying an attempt at 3 snookers (assuming TT didn't continue the break) despite balls being in good position for snookers.
Welcome back to the tour, Thanawat!

Welcome back to the tour, Thanawat!
Yes it's good to see him have another chance. When he was a professional before, there were always financial, personal and even corruption issues in the background. He was always a very talented player, held back a little by some technical limitations. He won't be completely outclassed on the tour, but it will be difficult to do well. The main challenge for him right now is to raise enough money to survive on tour.

I assume that if they don't qualify in event 2, Poomjaeng and Iqbal almost guaranteed to get invites to the Q Tour

Face Shields been proven pointless in 2020, Cloth Masks the same.
There is no real evidence at all regarding surgical masks, but nobody will say they don't work, it helps keep the fear going when and if they need it.
In Hospitals around here cloth masks were banned early 2021 now Hospitals and care homes are dropping them one by one.

My last year at the Q school I managed to find accomodation for only £16 per night , that wasn't too long ago and the accomodation wasn't too bad , if they have financial issues they should probably be looking at something like that unless they've got something already arranged , that similar ballpark figure would ease the pressure off somewhat I think.

Yes, but 3 days after he had fled back to Thailand with Passakorn Suwannawat. There was a young Chinese player in that house, who later suffered a nervous breakdown, but nobody seemed to care.
Passakorn Suwannawat resigned his tour card and hasn't been back to the UK since, and didn't enter Q School despite being one of the best players in Thailand. Funding was an issue for both players then, and still is for Thai players now.

Someone in the chat was demanding an investigation, saying that Poomjaeng let the other guy win.
As you said, Poomjaeng's shot choices were quirky, but I don't know if they were quirky enough to say that he was throwing the match.
