Tirapongpaiboon looks in good nick. He is recklessly going for absolutely everything though, even if the chance of the pot is less than 5%. Does he always play like that? It seems a bit disrespectful to his opponent.

I missed Gharahgozlou's game. That result is a big shock to me.
Just tuning into Advani v Chen and am surprised by this too. Chen Ruifu is a strong player and it's a long time since I've seen Advani, but I thought the Indian would be a favourite. Not over at 3-0, but obviously Chen will likely have a number of chances to get over the line.

92 break in frame six seals a 4-2 victory for Chen Reifu.

Players' chairs at this venue appear to belong to the family of chairs that are generally seen in palaces and stately homes.

What was the score ?
Rules says that you cannot concede if there are still enough points left.

I've forgot the points score but you're probably right that must be it.

Interesting. I remember Tony Drago conceding a frame (and match) against Alan McManus a decade or so ago.

Also, Ronnie conceding against Hendry mid-frame in the UK Championship (?) at 4-2/1 in a best of 17 or so.

But in both cases, the players shook hands to end the match, not just the frame...

EDIT: Here is the video of Drago v McManus, skip to about the 4:00 mark. Conceded the final frame 13 points behind with 18 on...

I remember that as I remember Drago instantly regretting it and smacking himself on the head

I'm not surprised to see Tian Pengfei lose. He's only won one match since October (against Bai Yulu). I think Ma Hailong and Xing Zihao have a better chance out of the ones to have dropped off the tour this season.

Thanawat Tirapongpaiboon is probably one of the favourites too based on how he did back in the 2022 Q School.

South/South-East Asia needs its own dedicated QTour. Sure, players from this region are eligible to play in the Asia-Pacific QTour but to date all events have taken place in Australia and New Zealand, and they not allowed to play in Middle-East QTour.

Two events in India and Thailand, with Pakistan, Malaysia, Hong Kong, etc, would give a nice little tour with say two spots available for QTour Global.

If he gets to the final and he’s up against Ding I know who my money is on!

Good chance of a new pro from the bottom half as only 1 of that half has been a pro (Peng Yisong)

Probably be down to 1 in the top half by the QF stage as TT plays Xing Zihao next and the winner of that likely to play Rory Thor in L16

Rory Thor is out beaten by Xu Jianhao

I Think the Quality of the Asian Q School has never been stronger
