And that would give this tin pot event two fingers up its jacksie
Nevertheless, Ronnie has entered it again, hopefully that'll mean more tons coming along for him.

I don't think there's any doubt about it, is there? He'll be going for them in every frame.
The Hendry record is in the bag anyway, and he does seem to want the 1000. It's why he's entered this.

Also because it's basically paid practice against top opponents an hour from his house. Practice he'd be doing anyway.

Out of interest, is it an event Ronnie usually enters? I don't really follow this tournament because, y'know, it's crap.

That's what I thought, but was only going based on people's reaction to him entering.

By losing 3-1 to Marco Fu Stephen Maguire needs a miracle to not go out
He will need to beat King 3-0 in the next match and also hope King loses his next 2 matches 3-0.

Well by winning the second frame against Trump Mark King has sent Stephen Maguire out of the tournament.

Would be funny if King managed to win this Group after being called in at the last minute at the expense of Murphy not playing.

Bingham tops Group 1 with 5 wins from 6 matches, Robbo and Hawkins 2nd and 3rd respectively with 4 wins each, and Trump with only 2 wins to his name somehow managed to be 4th placed on the Group. Fu is 5th and therefore goes into Group 2, King and Maguire are both out with only 2 wins each but both have a worst frame difference than Trump.

Well under the circumstances and 1 ball away from being defeated 3 nil Bingo from 75-1 down made a superb clearance of 75 to steal that frame and win it by a point.

Bingo wins from 2 nil down, after that amazing steal in the 3rd frame, he didnt look back, made a ton in the next and after Trump missed a red on 56 in the decider Bingo made another steal to the pink to win the match.

Appears that Neil Robertson has pulled out of the second group, and will be replaced by Matthew Selt, according to Mark King on Twitter (who seems less that impressed that Robbo knocked him out before withdrawing...!).

its the nature of the beast.
What did King want Robbo to throw matches?
Robbo wanted some practice before the Masters and Got it.

Sounds like it was fairly tongue-in-cheek; after all, even if Robbo had lost that match (or beaten King 3-2, which would have also seen King into 5th), it would have just put Fu in King's position.

Exactly Wild, Selt will thank him as in fairness he needs the money more than Robbo does and it's paid practice so... Every player is entitled to pull out when they so wish, they need to have a valid reason obviously but in this tin pot tourney you don't need much of a valid reason anyway
