Ranking wise yes he should be in it because his Ranking should have been Frozen at 13 http://www.prosnookerblog.com/rankings/ ... son-money/

that means Ali Ranking wise because his ranking was frozen should be ahead of Joe Perry who is ranked 14th currently.

Rankings at the moment because Ali is frozen at 13 should be

Bold is the 4 top ranked players thats not qualified

1 Mark Selby
2 Neil Robertson
3 Ding Junhui
4 Ronnie O'Sullivan
5 Barry Hawkins
6 Judd Trump
7 Shaun Murphy
8 Mark Allen
9 Marco Fu
10 Stuart Bingham
11 Ricky Walden
12 John Higgins
13 Allister Carter

14 Stephen Maguire

Well, as much as you can say in 140 character tweets yes that's part of it obviously because it's on ITV and it will put snooker in the headlines during that weekend. But that's not to say it's a cynical exploitation, it's a common sense move that if I were in Hearn's position I wouldn't think twice about making happen.

It's Carter's position in the game, if he were ranked 40 odd and the general public not have heard of him then no, I wouldn't be saying it. But he's been in 2 world finals and made a Crucible 147 break so people know him.
