Under normal circumstances I'd make Judd favourite. He's one of the two best players in the World. He's in his prime and he has all the confidence.
But the pressure of breaking the 'Crucible Curse" could be some hurdle. Paritcularly in close matches. Everyone will remind him that he could make history.

If we talk about an outsider I'd mention Gary Wilson. He seems to have the bottle. Particularly at the Crucible. Beat Brecel in an incredible decider. And the match against Selby was even more impressive. Against ROS in 2017 he also performed to a high level despite losing.
Gilbert doesnt have the head. He becomes a nervous wreck once pressure is mounting. Not only the choke against a very poor Higgins in the semis. He also messed up a golden opportunity in the two ranking finals against Wlliams and Wilson.

Selby will be wanting to get back to at least the semis after the last few years so I'll go for him, at this extremely unpredictable stage.

Only if he trains a dingo to attack the ref and other opponent and he keeps getting through by forfeit!

If he doesn't win it next year I might start to doubt if he'll ever win it.

Snooker is an old man's game now.
Best give it a decade to be sure.

Wow, Ronnie's the betting favorite.
I love the man to death, as you all know, but given how poor he's been performing in the past 5 years, I doubt he'll even make it past the quarters.
For whatever reason, Ronnie has a mental block at the Crucible.
I do hope that you guys are right and he may finally win another World Title. Nobody will dare to challenge his GOAT status if he does that. With one exception of course (Vodkadiet cough cough

Even 1 day before the tournament sometimes its hard to predict.
Down the years many players have won ot without having a good season. Its a different tournament to the rest.

as much as I detest the fella, It will be Murphy.
Selby has lost so much form he could be battling to stay in the top 64 next season
Crucible Curse will eat Trump for lunch
Ronnie can't be bothered.
