Morning, I manage to stay away from Twitter / SI etc the whole weekend so I could enjoy the Ronnie match late last night. He looks in great shape.
In what promises to be a day of featurettes, here's my favourite one from 1988, set to Barbara Streisand's The Way We Were, from the film of the same name she made with Robert Redford.
I had this on vhs taped from the telly when I was a teenager and watched it over and over. I re-discovered it the other day on youtube and it made me blub like a baby 'cause the lyrics resonated with my recent break up. Boo hoo. It was the first time I'd cried since the break up, I felt a lot better afterwards.
Could it be that it was all so simple then?
Or has time rewritten every line?
Given just a chance to do it all again,
tell me would we, could we?
ps. You gotta hand it to the Beeb sometimes. Note the segment which shows Willie with hair, and then bald as we know and love him, and then straight to Eddie Charlton, his hair miraculously re-grew!
