Nothing comes easy for Higgins these days. He battled tremendously hard in that break and all of a sudden he misses a sitter.

Yes, very characteristic situation for someone, who's in very deep decline. Can't expect him to win tournaments, at least not the big ones. This is probably his best chance he'll ever get now with the best players being already out and Mags playing rubbish.

winning tournaments could give him a lift at the right time before the WC. since his 2011 triumph he disappointed mostly
lost to hendry, mavis and mcmanus

Higgins is romping home, needing 3+ chances per game. 3-chance Higgy

Even if he wins this tournament, I don't think, it'll change that much. He's just too far in decline and under normal circumstances I can't see him even getting close to winning one of the triple crown events. He's always got to rely on his opponents playing very bad to have a decent chance.

The standard has plummeted this week compared to the German Masters. Mark Selby was the only top player that performed and he's out!

If Higgins could win this tournament playing like this, it would be a superb achievement to him. It must be very hard for an all time great to struggle so badly but he's still trying his hardest. I admire that.
