Hopefully it will
But if Selby gets out of this ONLY 5-3 behind he'll feel like he almost won the session.

If Murphy's positional play was as good as his potting he would become a literally unbeatable force.

Hopefully Murphy can take a 6-2 lead.
I certainly wouldn't write off Selby if he can finish the session at 5-3.

Playing like this, he is THE favourite. Plain and simple.

6-2 and I would fancy a 9-2 scoreline.
Murphy's new year resolution is to not let an opponent win more than 2 frames in a final.

Murphy bullying the other top players in the finals this year. Unbelievable. And he beat Ronnie playing near his best.

I seriously doubt Murphy would win 9-2.

No one thought he'd beat Robbo so heavily either...

Murphy seems to just get too complacent at times, that blue the other frame and that red this frame being the main examples. More focus, slightly better position and he'd be making centuries every frame in his current form.

It'll be 9-8 Selby, he'll come out this even and make 6/7 100 breaks,

If he manages to win this (which would be incredible) then yes, it would be 9-8.

And somehow Selby wins the last of the session. Hopefully the real Mark Selby can turn up tonight and take the title.

Hopefully not. As the audience will be bored to death.

Murphy should go to the practice table and work on his positional play.

Yes, great mental effort there from Selby. He has given himself a chance now.

5-3, Selby still with a chance but it's a slim one. Murphy is just playing on a different level.

Final back on
Of course 5-3 lead is great for Murphy as Ronnie says, but at sane time 6-2 would have been SO much better.
Anyway, at least Shaun wont have the presure of a big lead, and that can actually work to his advantage against a player like Selby.

Yes, the pressure of a big lead really hindered him at The Masters....

Just in terms of potting though. His positional play let him down a couple of times now and costed him the last frame.

Murphy is playing so much better than Selby - in almost every department. It could turn around in the evening session but I doubt it.

No Vodka, the pressure of a Big lead hinders any player against Selby, that's what I meant.

Of course Murphy can still win the first 4 frames of evening session like at the Masters and win this Final then, but I doubt it.
I think they will share the session again 2-2, and a 7-5 would be a nice one to have then.
