Amazing performance from Walden. He really stepped it up the last couple of seasons. Before that Wuxi win there were serious doubts that his Shanghai win was just a fluke. Now he's a respected multiple ranking event winner who just won the fourth most important tournament of the season.

All over then, quick presentation.
Well played Walden
But also hats off to Allen, this is his 4th Final this season and just shows how consistent he has been. If he carries on playing well it's only a matter of time before he wins another ranker again.

Walden at his best is really a very good player. Unfortunately it doesn't happen too often that everything for him clicks into gear like this week.

I thought you meant that it's not a major anymore because Walden won it (to me, seeing all the best players disappear early makes it seem like a smaller tournament than it really is).

One of the great things about the clinically insane scheduling of the CoC is that we'll get a chance to see if these players struck lucky this week or they're actually hitting a good form period.
Walden could win CoC

The reason for that is because Selby and Walden are not in the same league ^-^ And anyway, their overall number of titles have a large difference (note that Selby won the Masters three times, pity it's not counted as a ranking event).

Of course they aren't in the same league. But the number of ranking events won IS an important stat. And for a player of his caliber 4 ranking titles is poor.

It is poor no doubt, we've discussed this before, a player of Selby's calibre should really have the same amount of ranking events as Robbo and Ding have, that would be about right, so this in fact is a compliment to Selby because a player like him only having 4 ranking titles is poor.
But he sort of "overcomes" that poor stat by having 3 Masters titles from 5 Finals, and not only that he became a Triple Crown winner last season, and only a very restrict group of players have the luxury of having that.

I'd noticed that his number of ranking event titles are too few, and have always wondered why.

He's not really going to be that upset given the runner up prize. Disappointed, but laughing to the bank.
