In my opinion there is no majors bullocks its about winning titles The World stands alone then the other tournaments are Equal with PTC a step below.

This Major tag was introduced by the BBC to try and promote the tournaments they show.

By that logic, the World Open stopped being a major when the BBC stopped showing it.

Wild's talk is the one which is bullocks By his logic, then winning the Welsh Open is the same as winning a Masters or UK Title It just isn't, those tournaments are a lot harder to win, especially the Masters, so the Majors tag makes sense, and as DanCat said, the "Triple Crown" tag is just an example of that as only the greats of the game have it.

It is about winning tournaments no doubt, but dont tell me it's the same winning a Aussie Open title and winning the Masters or UK, it just isn't.

Andre im stating bucking facts when i was a kid there was no talk of triple crown or Majors each tournament was treated as almost equal with the World Championship a touch above.

all this Majors crap has come in the last 10 to 15 years

A shame Ollie Lines lost his match, never easy to beat Rod the Plod.

Having titles like the Triple Crown, Majors etc provides stories and status for the players who win them which is good for the sport...
