That really does sound a blinder.
I reckon Wenbo will make him work for it, but the World Champion will have too much for him.
That prediction based on not having watched any of the tournament yet.

He did claim that flukes were 'part of the game' once, believe it or not.
Though that was, in part, because Ronnie had just got one.

First man through this afternoon is Day, who beats MJW 5-2. Has Gould next.
Meanwhile, Chinese wildcard Yan Bingtao is in a decider with world number 5 Barry Hawkins.

Mark Williams' best days really are behind him, aren't they?

And Liang beats Selby 5-3. Selby played ok, but wasn't that close to his best. Liang was definitely the better player though and deserved the win.

Selby wasn't on it today, never looked convincing. Deserved to lose. Still the world champion.

I misread your post then, and thought Mark Selby had won.
Epic win for Liang Wenbo. Didn't see him taking that. Can he go on a good run?

It'll be interesting to see how Selby adapts to the pressures of being a WC for the first time. He's a mentally strong player, I predict he'll be okay.
