That was a great win for Melling Booking his place in the Last 64 of a Ranking event for the 3rd time however last 2 times he had to win 2 and 3 matches to reach that stage 2007 Malta Cup and the 2004 Players Championship.

The match should have started at 2.30pm. At 2.31 Higginson would have been docked a frame, at 2.46 he would have been docked the 2nd frame, at 3.01 the third frame. He must have been ready for play before 3.16.

Oliver Lines starting his pro career today joining his dad Peter on tour having played in the Australian Open last season as a top up player his only tournament as a Top up player and beating David Grace 5-4 before losing 5-4 to Zhang Anda.

Barry Pinches and Peter Ebdon have been on the Tour since the early 90s but they have played only twice and its 1-1 in head to heads. Barry won their last meeting almost 15 years ago in 1999 in the Last 64 of the Grand Prix.

Good start by James Cahill leading Bingham 62-0 with 67 on the table in frame 1

Bingham missed the final black off its spot to take the opener from 62-8 down left it over the pocket and James Cahill knocked it in to take the opening frame

Alex Borg doing well against McGill they have met twice before both in 2007 and both in PIOS Anthony winning both times
