Actually laughed when I saw that Vinnie Calabrese had Selby, cos I thought that's all the Aussie needed, but he only went and dumped him. Good on you Vinnie.

Pankaj Advani although inexperienced at this level of snooker has plenty of competitive experience and knows the angles of a snooker table when playing safeties that he is incredibly difficult to beat.

What's the latest then? The scores above are how it was when I left and now I'm home
Another good day at the Dome but it really is bloody warm in there. There's not been a single player say they've enjoyed playing there with the main complaint being the heat. It felt about 5 degrees warmer today than yesterday although the weather outside was pretty much the same so I don't know what that was all about.
Quite a few spectators in today although bafflingly they seemed to be 75% watching the streamed tables all day. I don't know if that's because they think it's the main matches or what but it was quite noticeable.
As a spectator though it was pretty hard to stay in for more than an hour or so because of the conditions but there was plenty of good snooker to watch and that's the main thing. Stand out players today were Ding, Williams (those two really do stand out from the crowd as being genuine class), Steve Davis, Pankaj and a mention to Vinnie who ditched a poor Selby out and carried on the good run against Poomjaeng (who was funny as ever). And I've just seen he beat Davy Morris 4-1 so hats off to the lad. I've also just had a look at the men through to the last 16 and no surprise, it was those players I mentioned who stood out all day.

Fu was always on a back table so I didn't notice him at all and yes, Jimmy Robertson who I watched only against Kurt and he played well. Of course Bingham was on 72 for a max in the decider against Robertson who then cleared with 73 to win.

Whatever problem was in Smurph's game on Sunday, he seems to have fixed it. Smashing Jak Jones with big breaks. 115 and 98 from what I've seen in the last two frames.
