Can only guess it's funding issues again ... guessing as he wasn't on the rankings list he's told World Snooker he's not playing this season.

As for Hossein Vafaei Ayouri I've no idea why he no-showed - visa problems for China as well? Or funding? He must still be trying to get on the Pro Tour or he wouldn't have entered - the whole things a real shame as he's a good talent. Same could be said of Hu Hao (talent, that is), I had thought his APTC run last year would have got him on the Tour but not quite enough, if Jamie Burnett comes through to face him I'll be interested to see how he does.

And Cao Xinlong and Jin Long open with wins, the real tests for them still to come but at least they didn't fluff it against their amateur compatriots. Disappointing start to the season by Li Yan (though the losses to Bingham and McGill were less surprising)

mate at the moment its hard to work out anything about this tournament

Liveworldsnooker was supose to stream it and this morning they said "WorldSnooker Asian Tour 1 is no longer available; the event is now not being televised. Apologises" then i replied with " it is being televised ive bloody seen it" and then they replied with " Official statement - Tournament not being broadcast due to rights holder not making signal available"

whatever the hell that means.

Igor not going anywhere. He doesn't have a sponsor and can scrape a living here. Shame but nor surprising. Anyone ever worked out the cost of entering every tourney this season? Not that I'm criticising, that's pro sport, but for a plus 30 with kids to give up any structure he has in his own country to travel the world, he has to have a pretty dedicated or silly rich backer.
Brazil let him down, not Ws by not making more of the event a couple of years back. A continuation would at least have given him a little exposure. Brazil thinks only short term in everything so the fellow didn't really stand a chance.

Lets be Brutally Honest here many of his Fellow Players didn't give him a chance either.

a lot of people Cocked it up regarding the Brazilian Masters.

If Igor has officially withdrawn from the tour at such an early stageof the season, would he be able to be replaced by another nomination from the Americas or is that it for the season?

Not going well with their nominations, what with Ziegler last year as well.

Re: Yixing Open (Asian Tour 1) Discussion !!

Postby Wildey

things are better but the not perfect the tour cant fund players expenses or there wont be a tour there its the harsh reality but players has to manage their own cash flow and sponsorship and obviously Igor is struggling with that for reasons pinpointed by gallantrabbit.

The Brazilian Masters would have helped a great deal with snooker in that region but through poor promotion and poor players backing it did not happen.

I think Africa/Oceania/North America/South America nominations are all a little weak, but there needs to be a route onto the Pro Tour from each. Perhaps a playoff between 'Champions' from each with a Pro Tour place for the winner?

Sure aren't, the number of players out there is massive.

Been doing some digging trying to get information on some of the players, found a somewhat weird translation of a Chinese article about yesterdays play - hope I've understood these snippets correctly!

Matthew Selt's upcoming opponent who is listed as Yuan Siyun (what I found says Yuansi Jun) is 13 years old.

Cai Jianzhong who plays Scott Donaldson in Round 2 is a former Chinese national champion.

Zhu Yinghui who is Reanne's opponent next week lost today to Li Yuan. Zhu Yinghui is a teenager from Inner Mongolia.

They describe Guan Zhen beating Sun Peng as a shock (we wouldn't have known!)

Some of the lines are quite impossible for me to work out e.g. "Additionally, Lei Chen Jinlong 4-2 out, 4-0 Lin handsome horsemen". Just love online translation engines!

Other lines make sense in a bizarre way, this on Mark Williams defeat (his opponent Ju Reti's name seems to translate as 'thermal', 'hot thermal' or similar- Hot Thermal Titan seems a good name for an introduction at a tournament somewhere!):

"This year Yixing Open, Williams ranks first round against thermal mention. Two-time world champion, Welsh champion Mark - William Williams ranks first show contestant Xinjiang hot face lift, the results after five innings, Williams lost 1-4 upset, stop the first round ... it is worth mentioning that last year Yixing Open, Williams in the second round they waged war, when the two men in the 1st two relay stations, the first surface The home of the world-class champion hot too tight to mention, the final 0-4 defeat speed out".

"Turning to today's victory, the highest thermal Titan made himself very excited in the field, is with a revenge mentality. 'This opponent is quite accurate, I lost him last year, so this is revenge to me, bent He was to win, so we played better. 'Habitat hot mentioning said."

Love that it sounds funny, but a good quote in there from Ju Reti too ...
