You can easily say that for Ronnie too. After Ronnie pot the first red I thought this would be a straight forward clearance because the reds were in perfect position.
yup
overall a poor 1st frame from both

Exactly it's not Ronnie's fault John couldn't convert them.
1 nil to Ronnie, good start.

Higgins with the safety error. 2-0.
A repeat of the World final looks very likely now.

Unlucky that the black went in after potting the blue but Ronnie should have avoided that kiss. 3-0 would have been game over, now it's match on!

Oh I see.. Sorry.
Meanwhile, Ronnie wastes a golden chance to go 3 nil in front, and finds himself instead 2-1 in front.
Could that foul prove to be a turning point in the match?
We shall see.

Looks like Hawkins will be in the final unless Robbo pulls out some comeback.
3-0.

Another trademarck comeback from Robbo otherwise it's Hawk in the final after being 3 nil in front.

God dammit, it's always the same against Higgins. Ronnie is in control and all of sudden something goes wrong and Higgins strikes back.

SO that foul on the blue in the 3rd frame could have changed things as Ronnie was about to go ahead 3 nil.
Higgins has grown on confidence since.

Robbo also reduces to 3-2 after 3 nil down.
Expect a fistpump if he wins this match
Ronnie meanwhile.. same old story with Higgins

Ronnie has a big mental barrier when playing against Higgins. Like Mark Williams has against Ronnie or if we take another example. Like Roger Federer has against Rafael Nadal.
Everyone sees it. No matter how brillant Ronnie has played a round before. When it comes against Higgins he starts to lose the thread, misses sitters and makes only 30 breaks.
Ronnie needs a victory over Higgins as soon as possible. Otherwise this string will move on.
