So I checked the draw at WS and Ronnie's name doesn't appear at the bottom like it should do had he entered the event, so I guess he'll only play in the Welsh Open beofre his defence of the World Title.

He still is of course able to play in the PTC Grand Finals, but doubt he will. Having said that though, given the fac it's not in Bangcok anymore and somewhere in Europe you never know.

My strong feeling is as I said Welsh Open and then only Worlds.

10:00am

Anthony McGill 4-0 Michael Leslie
Matthew Stevens 0-5 James Wattana
Mark Joyce 3-1 Christopher Keogan
Yu De Lu 5-0 Lyu Haotian
Joe Perry 2-2 Duane Jones
Jack Lisowski 3-3 Shane Castle
Rory McLeod 1-4 Noppon Saengkham
Robert Milkins 2-4 Gary Wilson

Really surprising scoreline with Wattana and Stevens. Milkins looks to be in trouble as well.

Re: China Open Last 128 Discussion !!

Stevens is capable of losing to anyone so its no surprise to me ....

Joe Perry 2-5 Duane Jones
Jack Lisowski 5-4 Shane Castle
Rory McLeod 5-4 Noppon Saengkham
Robert Milkins 3-5 Gary Wilson

So Wilson continues his good season by finishing off Milkins, Lisowski just gets over the line against talented amateur Shane Castle, who was 40 ahead in the decider, and Rory comes back from 1-4 to beat Noppon Saengkham.

Edit: And Welsh amateur Duane Jones beats Joe Perry 5-2, with the aid of a 137 and 141, as well as two 70+ breaks.

Very good win for good auld Wattana, thumping Stevens 5-0!.

Hard luck to Castle, would,ve been top draw if he had of beaten Lisowski.

Verrrry impressive scoring from Duane Jones,no wonder Perry lost after gettin a 137,141,as well as two 70+,s thrown at him!. :dizzy:

There's still time in the season to make up and I think the tiered structure of Worlds (as well as that being the best paying event) will help them. Plus if they do fall off, they could end up coming back on via Q-School. I can imagine plenty of amateur players being overawed when playing Steve and Jimmy.

Anyway, if Steve falls off, it's his own fault for faffing around in a jungle during December.

Don't think GJ would be too upset if Robbo somehow lost this match. Still early days of course, but after all he did want him to skip the China Open, even being defending champ.

I would definately give Robbo more of a chance of doing well at the Worlds if he lost this match than if for instance he went far in the China Open.

Anyone know if Ryan Day's somehow broken both his arms mid match?

2-2 with Khaled Abumdas, who is apparently on par with Mohammed Khairy and Ahmed Saif in terms of talent.

winning breed confidence, skipping event nothing lost but loosing zaps confidence.

its a load of bull all this talk of burn out. Winning china increases his chances in Sheffield not decreases it.

Yeah, I agree Ronnie should have defended his German Masters title last season. Didn't do him any harm in the long run, though.
