This story seems to slipped past some people's notice.
Article from World Snooker's websiteNo idea how it is as a venue as it was a little before my time (then again most things are in the snooker World).
I think I'll make an effort to go down there myself and see some live snooker for the first time.

Never been there myself, but I have watched many matches that used to be held there under the old Grand Prix tournament (1998-2005, excluding 2000 when it was in Telford) and the venue seemed fanstastic I think, plus it hosted the UK Champs for many many years too from 1978 until 1998 think it was.
Think this is a good decision, just glad they didn't choose that venue in Ireland like last year because that wasn't good.

It didn't slip by my notice, but didn't post it. I didn't want to get a bollocking for my late news again.
