...so he's nothing like Selby then
Actually Carter beat Selby in a semi-final in China I think, best of 11 and he played really well so he's certainly capable of beating him, but last few times they've met Selby has been on a different level.

He plays the game the same way as the Selby. Or he tries to, bless him.

How? Ali is a Selby with less scoring power and a worse temperament and safety.
Call it a gut feeling....

Ali Carter has a better crucible record than his next opponent, so I wouldn't call him inferior.

I'm not saying inferior. I'm just saying he scores less heavily (true), has worse safety (most of tour does) and has worse temperament (he does bottle more, although I'll concede Ali has better temperament at the Crucible, but this isn't the Crucible, is it?).

They have met 25 times Selby leads 15-9 but in Main Ranking Events/Masters its 5-3 Selby.
Their first meeting was the 2001 UK Championship last 80 Carter won 5-3.

Skullman wrote:With regards to Ronnie winning this, I don't see it. ROS was in much better form in the Masters.
This seems more like the UK where he looked like a decent performance could beat him and it did in the UK.
But I do agree with what Skull said here, he hasn't been in the form he was at the Masters and this tournament may well be like his UK run no doubt.
I hope it isn't though.

Walden next against Ronnie, I don't think Ronnie will whitewash him again and I expect a close match.
