Matthew has always been a talented player but he is one of the worst matchclosers ever and he's proving it again.
Even, when the table's open, he still makes a positional mistake somehow and misses the ball.
If Smurf forces this into a decider, he will win it.

What did I tell you at the beggining
I just sensed a Maflin upset today, in fact I predicted a 5-4 win for Selby but believed Maflin would do the job, inspired perhaps by the many top seeds falling, and Selby is just another one.
Maflin

That's 11 out and if Matthew and Liang finish off their opponents we'll only have three left.

Indeed,Stevens has to be the greatest ever "worst match closer"!.
If he indeed goes on to losing this match against Murphy,it will be truly incredible, mind boggling.

What has happened to higgins and williams?
I love williams. but the losses against higgins at the uk and worlds, and the losses against stuart and selby in finals have hurt him big time. potentially 4 titles went begging after being well and truly on the way of collecting them

If Ronnie was in this he would win it easily. Poor standard so far.

Ronnie isn't in it because he lost.
Plus we're only seeing one match out of eight. You don't how most of the players are playing.

He obviously didn't want to win. Played like a drunk madman. Everybody knows he could have won that match.
