Monday 27th~Wednesday 29th of May at the Capital Venue, GloucesterThe Last 128 of the Wuxi Classic will start off in Gloucester before moving over to Wuxi, China in mid June for the Last 64 stage.
This is the first tournament under the new flat 128 where defending champion Ricky Walden will be hoping to book his flight to the venue in Wuxi.
Also playing in Gloucester surprisingly will be World Champion Ronnie O'Sullivan and John Higgins as well as Chinas own Ding Junhui, who will need to beat the very capable player Aditya Mehta in order to go to Wuxi for his home tournament.
Will we have some surprises along the way where a top player fails to qualify?

I think I'm going to go down on Tuesday, £10 seems good value with that line up. I think I'm going to watch Neil Robertson in the morning, then either Higgins or Ding in the afternoon then O'Sullivan or Trump in the evening. I've never watched snooker live before so should be good.

It seems like only yesterday when Ronnie O'Sullivan was crowned champion of the World for the 5th time, in fact there's actually been 20 days and since then a lot has happened in the snooker world, 12 players has earned their professional status and embarking on a new career. Some will find it easier than others and some might not see the season through and return home for whatever reason.
But at the Capital Venue Gloucester over the next 3 days the great and the Good will come together on another season of top flight snooker.
Stephen Maguire, Mark Davis, Dave Harold not to mention the Retired Stephen Hendry and the suspended Stephen Lee are the only members of the top 64 not taking part in the Wuxi Classic.

Don't think Jimmy will need to get out of 2nd gear in this match. Page not really up to standard.

I guess it's just a case of whether Jimmy can get and stay in 2nd gear to make it an easy match!

Lee Page is proberbly playing infront of cameras for the first time against a Snooker Icon its never going to be easy for him but hes won a frame and that could settle him down

i think Jimmy White will be one of the Biggest losers with a Flat 128 system.....he doesn't play to the Standard that will frighten 1st year pros or players down the Rankings so his place is definitely under threat.

Players who pull out of a tournament without just cause should be fined 50% the value of the prize money of the next round (so in this case £1,500). Or if there is no prize money in the next round, a minimum of £500.

On a brighter note, Dott's the first player off to Wuxi by right.

Scott Donaldson doing well. Ford must be a bit rusty, but 4-1 up is still good

As far as I know, qualifiers this year are in open venues, so you could get up in the middle of a frame and move to another match if you wanted. If the ticket isn't for a specific match, so should be able to just walk to another table.
I haven't actually been there though, so it's best to double check.
