Recently i was in a game and my opponent potted the yellow and partially covered the yellow spot with no other spots available i thought the yellow should be placed in front of the yellow snookering him but after some discussion it was placed nearest to the yellow spot but behind it.
the white was forward of the yellow spot so he was left in a Chinese snooker
was i right?

It depends on what you mean by in front and behind. It should be placed as near to the spot as possible in a direct line to the nearest point on the top (black end) cushion.

Thanks
The white was outside the D slightly towards the black if that helps i thought because you always place the pink behind the reds if no spot available the yellow should go in front of the white and not in the D.

Sorry Tim
On my first post i meant to say the white slightly cover the yellow spot but slighty towards the black end of the table
Cheers
