So if a ball is hanging over the pocket and falls in outside the parameters of a shot, it gets put back over the pocket.
But what if a red is hanging over a pocket, the striker attempts to pot it, but while the cue-ball is traveling towards it, the red drops into the pocket of it's own accord?

If this happens then all balls get put back in their original place, and the striker can choose to play the same shot or another at his discretion.
