I remember watching a Shaun Murphy match in Telford one time. There were only five of us in there. (Ronnie was playing on the other table.)
At one point it might have gone up to six people, as CJ from Eggheads walked in and sat amongst us plebs not watching Ronnie.
Quite a surreal experience.

I think in Asia its mostly geared towards TV advertising/viewers rather than big crowds. Hence the huge sponsorship/TV deals that are negotiated.
I think the only people that go in the crowd are usually just corporates? They look posh seats anyway.
If you go to any small tennis tournament; the sport that's apparently very popular globally, the majority of courts/crowds are very small. Yet they still have huge prize pots.

Well in Killarney last season Maguire played in the main arena, with the match on ES, in front of ONE person if you exclude the officials, ref, marker, cameramen and one photographer. It improved to three when frame 2 started.
The crowd was there though. But in Ladbrokes watching the horse racing, and in the bar gathering (liquid) strength for Hogan and Doherty matches while watching the football.
Here you can hear applauses in the background. So they must we watching on (a) side tables. There are 3 Thai players in action.

They were afraid he'd start beating people up every time he missed a shot.

So far the only player to be eliminated is Poland's Krzysztof Wrobel who has played 4 matches and lost every one.

If my maths is correct, I think Stephen Maguire is as good as eliminated, and will leave Thailand with nothing!
Edit: He must beat Mark Davis 5-0, 5-1 or 5-2. If he wins 5-3 or less, he is still eliminated (unless it is decided on H2H?)

Good to see Hossein Ayouri made it to this tourney. And he's beating players like Maguire and Davis here. It's only a six reds event, but if he can beat the top players now, he could be a very dangerous player once/if the visa issues are sorted.

Group B Judd Trump 1-5
Rodney Goggins Group H Martin Gould 2-5
Marco Fu Group F
Stephen Lee 5-0 Ben Judge
Group A
Joe Perry 5-2 Dechawat Poomjaeng
Group B Mohamed Khairy 2-5

Thanawat Tirapongpaiboon Maguire IMO just wants to go home. He's not playing in Australia anyway.
Li Hang trying his best despite being out already.
Judd is not a morning person… he better wakes up before his last match though.

Well Maguire is out now. Don't understand his scheduling. Is there a reason for travelling to Thailand and not going to Australia rather than wasting his time in Shangalangadingdong for the APTC?
