The World Cup is every 2 years alternating with this thing apparently.

I Agree it doesn't make exciting Snooker its just Going through the Motions nobody really cares who wins or loses last year in the World Cup getting a win was like giving blood they wanted it so badly.

Personally I didn't enjoy the World Cup that much. I felt you couldn't get involved in a match, if the opponents of the match changed every frame.

This Six-Reds isn't super thrilling either, but I'd take it every day over the  World Cup.

But i Liked the Fact every Frame was competed for like their life depends on it.

OMG!!!,another chips n eggs tourney!!. :mood: :grrr: <laugh>

Ah well, better than nuthin as they say!!.

I remember when this 6 reds chips n eggs tourney came out way back in 2009,even though i was,nt impressed with the idea i thought,id give it a look at.
I have to say,i liked it more than i thought i would of,although, you can,t compare it with proper 15 reds snooker.

I might have a wee look in this week. :-)

Didn't watch much of it today with TDF and Wimby on, but didn't enjoy it too much. It was nice seeing a few of the lesser players on the telly but the novelty wore off quickly, plus the frames do tend to be rather scrappy and the reds really mean nothing if you can't clear the colours. Missed Judd's *maximum* :(

Don't think 6 reds is "real" snooker. However
it is nice to watch a diff kind of snooker. Powersnooker goes
under the same category. Hoping for walden since Ronnie
is not in the draw (if I'm not mistaken)

Don't worry. Selby will win this event and finally become a Snooker World Champion.

He's already World Champion. He won it last time.

Selby will never be world champion in sheffield if you ask me
So he has to settle for second best. By the way Selby
is on my top 3 list of most boring players only beaten by ebdon.

Former professional player. From Hong Kong I think.

I am. And that arena looks horribly empty while Stevens and Wrobel battle it out. There was a far better audience yesterday but then all matches on television (ES and ES2) did feature a Thai player. Again, each time I've been to "minor" events outside of UK, the crowd was there for the local lads but not always for the big names.

Really? I thought the crowd looked pretty grim for the matches I watched. Maybe they just weren't by the front.

The venue looked nice though, even if a bit empty.

The results are coming in. Looks like Selby put a hurting on Gentleman Joe Perry.

Jimmy White beat Stuart Bingham. Always does well when the pressures off, Jimmy. Nice to see him winning games, though. Even in this format.
