I dont wanna watch any other the players involved. They are from a generation gone. Oasis sang a song: BE HERE NOW.

I don't get the issue.
Don't want to see the some of the old greats of the game.....don't go.
Why waste your time slagging the event? Is it causing you physical pain or emotional distress just knowing it's taking place? Is it somehow impacting some main tour event?
Bunch of moaners

GOOD NEWS!
I have had a ridiculously slow day at work, and I've been doing some internet research. I belive I have found the nearest pub to the venue.

I don't think Smart had a point, if I'm honest. But I know what you mean. (And I'm going to the bloody thing.)
With the spread of snooker internationally, and all these young up-and-comers breaking in, it seem a bit futile to be going; "Look everybody. It's Dennis Taylor."
It's not something I intend to take seriously. Hence my looking up where the pubs are. I can get to Portsmouth quite easily on the train, might as well have the Saturday out and have a bit of a laugh with/at the old fellas. It's nothing more than that, really. Just a glorified Snooker Legends event.

Yeah, I know what you mean. That gets a bit old now. I know what happened in that match, and I was 4 when it happened. If I need reminding, I have that final frame DVD thing they brought out. They don't have to keep on about it. And Steve Davis' constant jokes in analysis, pretending he can't remember who won that match.
Still, saying that, Dennis Taylor vs Nigel Bond might be quite funny considering Nigel Bond is still on the main tour.

Here, who remembers the Hainan Classic? The one Dennis Taylor was playing in.
I remember watching the first frame of Taylor play Ali Carter before I had to go to work.

The golfing seniors tour has a large fan base and many events. You don't see the PGA fans complaining about them, they'll watch what they want to watch rather than moan about an event that doesn't impact the main tour.
One has to recognize that even though players are no longer at the top of their game, there are fans who still want to see them and these kinds of events provide that opportunity.
The main tour is where new talent is showcased, having a seniors event isn't going to impact the exposure of the new generation of players.
I'm not suggesting anyone has to like it, I just fail to see why anyone of sound mind would be upset by it.

anyone with half a brain whos staying in a different city on a Saturday would be sussing out where the nightclubs, hookers and casinos are as opposed to finding out where an old mans pub for a game of dominoes and kebab shops are

Can't whack the old men's pubs man. None of these trendy bullocks, where they serve you a drink with bugger all alcohol in for £8.
Old Man Pubs.

I am not of a sound mind, it upsets me that people like it and that it is being played. I will not comment further.
