I'm a 100% certain Ebdon will win this now.
He loves these kind of matches, gritty fights of pure will and mental strength.

Don't know.. maflin has proved he can cope well with thse kind of slower players.. so honestly I would still favour Maflin even if Ebdon makes it 9-8.

Yes he beat Steve Davis but Ebdon is stronger in my opinion. He wants to win this match badly, trust me. And he's edging closer.

Also interesting fact:
Peter Ebdon never failed to qualify for the Crucible in his entire career. He got to the quarter finals on his debut in 1992.

I think he's one of four to have done that. Other three were Terry Griffiths, Hendry and Ronnie. Might have missed someone though.

Interesting. No John Higgins or Mark Williams there. Makes that record even more impressive.
Another reason why I'm certain Ebdon will win this. 9-8.

But I have to say Maflin is very unlucky with this draw. Having to beat Steve Davis AND Peter Ebdon to qualify for the Crucible. It doesn't get any tougher than that.

It's still 8-8 between King and Delu.
Mark is leading with 69 to 68 points. That's what I call a close match.

Yu seems to be something of a long match specialist. I remember he made it to this round and it took Hendry to stop him. And he smashed Michael White 10-2 and beat Selt pretty comfortably as well.
Anyway he's 9-8 up now. Just one more...

Not good signs for Maflin. Looks like he's starting to miss more than he was before...
Pressure finally getting to him?

All that matters from qualifying is that Rod Lawler hasn't made it through. I had visions of him playing Selby at Sheffield and it being 3-2 after the first session.

Looks like Ebdon's record is safe for now. 10-8 barring snookers. Hope Robbo doesn't get him.

I wouldn't mind seeing him play Higgins.

The Force, forces his way over the line, good comeback from Ebdon in all fairness.
Maybe another first round clash against Ronnie awaits.

I thought Maflin would win that. Ebdon probably just destroyed him mentally. I cannot see Ebdon beating anyone at The Crucible apart from Walden.

@Wild:
Ebdon must the player with the most Crucible appearances left in the tournament, right?
