if this sport going to progress it needs new stars to get fan base if Jimmy gets to a venue it deprives that from happening.

Good luck to the Guy but its not whats best for the sport.

As usual, you talk complete marmite. <ok>

how would a 50 year old hasbeen playing at 20% his very best beating young up and coming players be good for the sport?

its not the antiques roadshow

Jimmy is the most popular snooker player the game has ever seen. He has always put bums on seats and if he makes it to the Crucible, fans will flock in.

Yes definately <ok> <ok> <ok> <ok> it would create a HUGE BUZZ around the tourney.. unlike someone like Guodong who I'm not saying isn't good, but obviously woulnd't create that buzz Jimmy would. And just imagine if Jimmy qualifies he draws Ronnie first round.. No one could deny what a cracking match that would be. So I'm all for Jimmy to qualify, though like I said earlier Milkins is the real deal for him. Although he still has a match to win against Guodong, and the chinese player can very well recover, so Jimmy can't afford to relax.

but nostalgia has no place in taking this sport forward.

players flock to the crucible to watch jimmy after seeing him cockerel up simple shots they would probably never go there again.

if jimmy plays well and get there then fair play but against Pengfei he made 4 break over 40 and Today 3 Break over 40.

its just rubbish poor.

one match I would absolutely love to watch is if Drago qualifies and then somehow drew Ronnie first round... similar to their match at the Crucible back in 1996 2nd round. Tony so far going very well and leads GIlbert 5-4, though for Tony too things don't get any easier and if he wins it, he'll face Fu in the last, a tall order for him, but not impossible of course.

Exactly!

I've got nothing against the Chinese players out there but few of them have Jimmy's flair and attacking brilliance.

few of them have his size gut or a wig either
