Respotted black between McGill and Wasley in frame 5.. both 67 points each, Wasley just needs black to win 4-1

wasley duly pots the black and wins the match 4-1.
Just the Wattana and Wells match remaining.. as much as I like James, would like Daniel to win this one as it's his home tourney and could give him so confidence as he would meet fellow welshman Dale in the next round.

Wattana was very unlucky with a huge kick on a red that made his break stop, but Wells really should have sealed it there with that last red along the rail...
1 red left, 52-22 to Wells

What a horrible shot from Daniel there.. failed to hit the red.. and leaves a free ball... frame and match winning chance for Wattana..
EDIT: James just failed to take advantage from the free ball, and Wells wins the match 4-3

OMG!!!.
Talk bout a bad day at the office!!.
All the players i wanted to win lost!.
Wattana had a great chance to win,but missed an easy brown which gave Wells an easy pot on the last red to the middle in which he went on to clinch frame and match from that position.
Brecel,Thanawat,McGill and Wattana were the players i wanted to win and they all ended up losing.

Steve Davis is one Match away from a Return to Newport the scene of his very Last Ranking Tournament win in 1995 where he defeated the Grand Prix Champion John Higgins 9-3 in the Final.
Steve Davis reached the Last 16 last year defeating Ali Carter 4-3 on the way.

Yeah but now has a tough test against Maflin in the qualifiers currently their match has just started, and even if he does win he would play Selby at the venue, a tall order for him against the world number 1

yeah agree, and he does lose this match 4 nil in quick fire time.
Anda meanwhile reduces to 2-1, while Davis almost 2 nil up, barring snookers.
