Just tuned into 3rd frame of Selby v Vatnani. Don't know how he played in the first couple of frames but you can see why Vatnani struggled last year.

Selby certainly signs contracts quicker. I don't think Selby's slow, although he does play more safety than other players.

its just irritating this Selby is slow rubbish its gone to the point now where he cant chalk his cue without someone saying its slow down tactics.

Did he do it twelve times every frame like Ebdon though?

Thing is that he probably was slow before and has sped up but everyone remembers their initial impression of him as slow, so he's slow forever.
Would be the same for players like Rod Lawler. If he suddenly sped up to 'normal' pace or near it, some would still call him slow because that's how they remember him.

Twelve times per frame would be very low when one is expected to chalk up every shot

i never ever ever thought of Selby as being a slow player then Ronnie talked rubbish and everything he does is dissected by everyone.
ok he was never Ronnie pace but not much that is.
Selby plays exactly the same game as John Higgins he plays the percentages.
When John takes time over a safety hes the Best tactician in the Game when Selby does the same its Gamesmanship.
