yeh must admit if i was a player id take them 2 over the worlds.

its kinda annoying in a way snooker has a world championship actually, be better if it was like golf and tennis with 4 majors per year all of equal ranking pretty much so they all are as important as each other.

also means the World rankings suddenly are more important too as there is no longer someone who can say they are World Champion, but there is someone who can say they are World No.1. At the moment its devalued cos youd far rather be WC than W. No.1

yeh having full focus on the Worlds means snookers season is totally geared up to one event so no wonder the casual fan only tunes in for that tournament as they dont see the rest as that important.

if the 4 majors were spread through the season the players at the top would have a far better structured season and it would lead to proper levels of top quality and consistency as they always be building up to a big event THAT MATTERED.

best way to build up for Major events is to give 100% in all Events.

i don't Buy this rubbish you can Prepare for Majors by Missing Tournaments and Dont give a rubbish about minor tournaments.

i believe the more success you have in minor Events the Less pressure of HAVING TO WIN MATCHES when playing Majors.

its now Official Stephen Lee is not in the draw and Adi Mehta gets a bye in to Last 64 and also Cao Yupeng pulled out giving the winner of tonight's Qualifier Chris Norbury or Edwin Depoorter a route straight through to the last 64

The only problem with that is how we're going to make the events equal.

If we reduce the Worlds down to the level of the UK and Masters, there'll be an uproar from fans and there won't be any multiple sessions anymore, which are the best matches imo. And there isn't really that much space in the calendar for several 17 day tourneys, and that's excluding qualifiers.

If we somehow managed to get all that sorted though, it would be a great idea <ok>

Well, having 4 majors of equal importance and prestige doesn't necessarily mean you would have to have the same format for all of them. Keep the WC as the long format tournament and shorter matches for the others, it's important to differentiate between the majors, in my opinion like in tennis.

that what's irritating about chinese events All of them Follow the same Pattern even the IC Follows the same Pattern only difference Slightly longer Matches.
