Ah come on now Wild, the IC being same format as the UK definitely ups the ante in terms of Chinese events.

Same format is good. At least it's going in the right direction and not best of 3s. I'm looking forward to the International more than any event since the Worlds.

But its Getting to the point same event different name and Region of china.
OK International Championship is a variation but all the other 4 Chinese Ranker is the same Tournament.
where's the individuality that Barry been talking about Giving events their own identity.

I don't see your problem Wild. It's boring because it's snooker and it's best of x frames and it's a ranking event? Shanghai and China Open / Wuxi have the same format, this is different and it has more prize money and ranking points.

yeah roll on roll off. Will never forget the day they did the quarter-finals in the Welsh all in one day roll on roll off. You don't get many better days than that for snooker.

whats wrong with snooker is it got stale and instead of looking to freshen things up make things different they buck about with the Sport 6 Reds,10 Reds,Shot Clock,Power Snooker etc etc.
The Sport is not Boring it just needs to be shuffled up a bit so that people can differential between Events and not get to the point where its same old same old thats when Shot Clock bullocks starts making the Rounds.

thats what i loved about the World Open
it got slated, mainly just from critics of the shorter format im sure but i really enjoyed it, both on tv and at the arena.

one minute you want things mixed up and change
on the other hand you slate all these attempts at variations
you gotta try them to see if they work
i still think shot clock, power snooker and 6 reds/ 10 reds are decent in their own ways
the only one i didnt like was that One Four Seven format, though i didnt watch that
