According to Dave Hendon's tweet, John Higgins v Michael Leslie is the televised match. Pity I'm not in a position to see that, as I've never watched Michael Leslie before. John Higgins will be the sternest of stern tests.
Anybody who is watching, keep those of us who aren't so lucky informed.

For SF: Higgins makes a 51 break before running out of position and missing a cut back red. Leslie misses and Higgins takes the first frame. Looks decent but nowhere his best and looks a bit rusty.
Edit: Although does a few good exhibition shots when the frame is safe.

Thanks.
Might be good to see Leslie win a frame or two, can't see him beating Honest John.

Update on Higgins v Leslie
Higgins plays a poor safety, leaving Leslie in, but he only makes 24 befoire missing a relatively easy red, possibly due to a kick. Higgins makes a 49, but runs too close the red he wanted and had an unbelievably thin cut which he couldn't get. Leslie makes another 21 but carelessly misses a red to middle and then Higgins cleared up to win the frame. 2-0.

Skullman.
Always been an excellent poster.
Sounds like an exciting second frame.

Scrappier frame this. Leslie gets in with a good long pot but misses a red on 16. Higgins misses a few reds close to pockets that he would never miss at his best or even when on his best B game. Bit of prolonged safety but Leslie gets in with another good long pot.
Edit: Leslie misses on 46 but Higgins unable to punish. Another safety exchange.

This one slightly less entertaining than frame two then?

Depends how much you like safety. Higgins playing some good shots followed by some careless positional ones. Back to safety after Higgins gets in but misses a red to middle.

2-1. Higgins missing a few reds to middle and Leslie punishes. Needed three chances though.

Higgins makes a seemingly perfect break off but Leslie sees a plant, gets it and splits the reds. Reds all open, chance for a big break from him to equalise the match.
Edit: Cannon goes wrong, only makes 42.

Sometimes in snooker, it's not about one-chance stuff. You just need to win in less chances than your opponent needs.
Hopefully this will give him some confidence, make a game of it. If it goes 2-2, Leslie will have done better than I thought he would from 2-0... It'll be game on.

Higgins getting poorer as the match progresses. Two chances, makes only 10. Leslie in again and enough easy reds on for him take the frame.
Edit: 2-2.

Evidently the Eurosport commentators don't talk to each other. Joe Johnson mentioned that Higgins has a new cue on ES2 and now Mike Hallett mentions five minutes into the coverage ES1.

Higgins plays a good shot to nothing, rolls up behind the yellow and makes a chance... then runs out of position on 23.

Higgins concentrates on position so much that he splits the reds and misses the pot, though Leslie only makes 23 but is in again with a good long pot.

Incompetence in Eurosport commentators isn't that surprising, to be fair.

Higgins switches up a gear and pots he missed five minutes ago are suddenly going into the centre of the pockets. 3-2 Higgins.

Ran out of position a few times but Higgins hasn't made any silly misses this frame and takes it. 4-2. Leslie gave him a minor scare but class wins in the end.

What do you make of Michael Leslie on this early television appearance? I've never actually watched him play. Did he get those two due to Higgins more due to Higgins playing marmite?

He was good in patches, especially the fourth frame, but yes I think if Higgins hadn't been playing marmite Leslie wouldn't have got a frame. Still has time though, only nineteen and his first season on the tour.

Oh obviously...
If you wanted to put a positive spin on it, yu could say he's only 19 and he took a couple of frames off of one of the best players ever.
