Matthew Stevens 4-4 David Gilbert
from 3-1 and 4-2 down Matthew Stevens has crawled his way back to 4-4.
this is looking like the one that got away for Gilbert basically doing a Stevens.

It's a shame I can't have any time off work for this. It seems like such a big occasion with it being back on ITV.

Big win for Stevens and big blow for Davis. Ronnies decision means number 16 will be not seeded for the crucible...

Ali Carter withdrawing and getting 0 points and also Stevens not in the PTC Grand Final has put Davis in a stronger Position than he was but he seriously needs a Great Run in the PTC and china and could push out Carter

Below is a report to the first day's play at the Haikou World Open - please feel free to take a look.
http://theoldgreenbaize.com/2013/02/25/ ... -report-2/Excited about this tournament - will be interesting to see who wins it this year. Maybe we'll have another different major ranking winner for the season! Variety seems to be the spice of life in snooker at the moment.
As I've said in the report tomorrow's action could be somewhat overshadowed by Ronnie O'Sullivan's announcement. Going to be a very interesting day that's for sure,
All the best,
Nigel
Hi Nige, are there big crowds out there in Haikou and how are you enjoying the food and nightlife.
cheers Nige, atb fella

Robertson makes a meal of defeating the journeyman Dale. Dott will thrash him in the next round.

You might've been able to overturn a 36 point deficit against Jewell, but me? No chance.
