Both matches finishing rather quickly, both 4-1, Williams and Higgins through. Nice to see Williams play the way we all know he can, didn't play brilliantly, but solid stuff nevertheless.

Now for Stevens v Burden, and for the big match of the day, at least for me, Selby, world number 1, against the legend that is Steve Davis. :-D :-D :-D

Had some unexpected visitors. When the snooker was on :grrr:

Anyway, see that Higgins and MJW got through fairly comfortably, no idea of the performances though.

Selby in really good form. Just hope he's not going back to old habits, playing well early and then going out in the quarters/semis.

Yeah that was just unbelievable that it went in..

Anyway, Selby played great, had that 144 total clearance, and looks in good form, no surprise.

Stevens 3 nil ahead of Burden. Can't see him bottling this now, but with Matthew you never know <laugh> :chuckle: <laugh>

But won't happen this round. Stevens through 4-2.

Gah! He bottled the bottling … couldn't do it in front of his home crowd. :dizzy:

He missed a couple of shots but Selby was in top form today. Had 98-99% pot success and punished every tiny error Davis made.

He did yeah, up until the 4th frame Davis had hardly made a mistake, but in that 4th he could definately have won it, but Selby was far superior as skull said, the highlight of course being that superb 144 total clearance break.

Now we have Trump v Dunn... it should be a walkover to Judd on paper at least, BUT given Judd's recent form I wouldn't be that surprised if Dunn could cause an early upset, just like Joyce did in the UK Champs.

And then on the other table it's two welsh players, Dale and Wells.
