Isn't part of being a great player being able to win when you're not at your best? Ebdon manages to win whole tournaments not at his best.

in the early 90s players would have been lining up to beat the rubbish out of ebdon playing like that Players just cant play Grinders no more to the standard they once could.

Don't get enough practice. Most of the grinders are off the tour, and some remnants aren't the force they used to be. Ebdon's the best grinder left and if players are unused to grinders they can't beat them.
Look at Judd. He blitzed people before and now the players have his measure and now he's beatable (by some). One person'll stop Ebdon when he's on one of these runs and then most will.
