With so many big names out can Neil Robertson win his home tournament? Or will there now be too much pressure?
Checked out the head to heads recently and it's largely in favour of Ding, but Ebdon wins over the longer formats (China semi and 2006 UK quarter). Of course that could mean if Ebdon beats Ding he'll go on to win the entire event.
And Overdrive will be gloating about Ebdon winning the same amount of rankers in three months as Selby in his whole career, Selby sucks, etc. So either Ding wins and Robbo wins the tourney or Ebdon wins and wins the whole tourney. Also Robbo has no problems beating lots of qualifiers to win rankers
So what do people think of my theory? Now that Ebdon has won, do you think he can win the whole thing?

I wrote him off last season but you can never write off Peter Ebdon.
My prediction: if he beats Murphy he will win the title regardless of who his opponents might be.

3-1 Mavis.
Robbo seems to be a different person after that kick in frame 2. Has to get it together and win the next four frames.

Robbo misses the yellow. Mavis misses the red.
Thought the yellow would be a nightmare ball for me.

4-1 Mavis. He's making a habit of knocking out the local favourites isn't he?

Davis is playing quite well. But his opponent is playing appallingly. Robertson should refund the money to all the hard-working Australians who paid to watch him.

And Mavis kills.
Second year in a row Neil's lost here. Murphy has to win for the good of the tournament and that might not be enough.

Well he was in brilliant form here until the second frame. Looking likely that the winner of Murphy and Ebdon will go on and take the whole thing.
