Hate to say this but Selby hasn't really done enough since winning in Shanghai to deserve the World no.1 position. It's been nothing but a burden.

Why? you afraid that your 2nd favourite player loses to Lee like he did in the PTC Grand Finals?
Don't worry, if it comes to that, Robbo will still win I reckon, as that PTC Final wasn't really a proper final format anyway... Robbo or Murphy for the title for me.. maybe Ding if he continues to play well

But he is World No 1 so that says a lot about other players rather than Him.

I agree but thing is the others players have been doing even less, as the closest player to him is Trump who is still over 5,000 points behind him. Half the top 8 could've the Worlds and still not overtaken him. They have to step up

Have to disagree with you... yes he may not win many title, in fact only two, but he more often than not always reaches the quarters and beyond of ranking tournaments, so if other players can't reach that amount of ranking points Selby has, it's their own fault, and not Selby's... he's been the most consistent scorer of ranking points but not exactly ranking events in recent times, so until someone surpasses his amount of points, he deserves to be World number 1.

nail on head and thats why im against money rankings as a fair reflection of form players.Under Money Rankings players that does best in the World Championship will be far higher than they should be.
although doing well in the World championship should be rewarded a snooker season is now 11 months and not 2 weeks in april.
Selby has grasped whats needed as a professional sportsman and is rightful at the top of the rankings there for others to try and knock down.

Can Ding do better against Ebdon than he did in China?
With so many big names out can Neil Robertson win his home tournament? Or will there now be too much pressure?

Checked out the head to heads recently and it's largely in favour of Ding, but Ebdon wins over the longer formats (China semi and 2006 UK quarter). Of course that could mean if Ebdon beats Ding he'll go on to win the entire event.
And Overdrive will be gloating about Ebdon winning the same amount of rankers in three months as Selby in his whole career, Selby sucks, etc. So either Ding wins and Robbo wins the tourney or Ebdon wins and wins the whole tourney. Also Robbo has no problems beating lots of qualifiers to win rankers

Good 129 from Ding. Robbo can breath a sigh of relief that he still has the high break prize after Ding tried to play an exhibition shot on the black

Bet the crowd are loving this
Especially as this is preventing Robbo from playing on time.

Cao opens with a century. What a talent he is. Once/if he gets over his problems with getting over the line he'll be dangerous.

This frame could take ages. Ebdon and Ding'll only be able to take a few reds at a time.

Not quite but close. Four frames in 45 minutes for Gould and Cao. Something to keep the locals awake while they wait for Robbo.
