Championship League Snooker is so meaningless that a new word for meaningless needs to be created.
It is as ridiculous as thinking that because you believe in God that you have more chance of an after life than someone who doesn't believe in God.

Great pot down the rail by Selby. Doubt he would have took that on on TV.

It's called being a snooker fan, although you'll have no idea about that.

The ironic thing is that The Championship league has more snooker played in it than any other event on the calendar, and it is by far the least important.
Well done Barry!

Can we please decide after it has finished whether or not it counts as a final?!!
We won't know until then.

i wouldnt say that
there were 10 players in the PL this season and world number 1 Selby couldnt get into it
next year there are only gonna be 7 players in it so its not a fullgone conclusion both will be in it
Ronnie as defending champ
World Champion
Championship League winner
thats 3/7

They had the winner of all the ranking events and masters in it last year, that's why I thought Selby would get a place this year. Didn't know they are cutting it down to 7.

Well if he ends the season in the number 1 spot it would make the PL even more farcical if he didn't get a spot. Robbo wins today but this doesn't count as a final and Selby gets the chance to earn more cash. I have no interest in this event but I have nothing against it taking place.

yeh its reverting back to the old format
to be honest, ive said it before and ill say it again
the time has come to punt the Premier League
in the days of 6 tournys it was ideal taking up Autumn months but theres just not the space on the calendar for it now
i see this new China tourny, well one of them anyway is gonna be in June and the PTCs kick off in full swing then too, not giving the players and fans much of a break from one season to the next, plus a lot dont feel snooker is a summer sport.
Now im all for lots more snooker more than most, but id sooner see the season structured better instead of a feast or a famine of big events then lots of PTCs and PL etc.
I think theres scope for Sky to turn the PL into a Premier Cup, even taking the World Open best of 5 format as a ranker they show on Sky.
