Under 21 World Championship - Beijing or Dublin confusion?

Postby roy142857

Early I know, but maybe someone might like to plan a holiday around this! (Edit - but see the 3rd post below!)

To quote from the publicity:

"The 2013 IBSF World Under 21 Snooker Championships, is the most prestigious Junior Snooker Championship in the world. The winner of the event will win a pro ticket to qualify to play on the professional tour in England for the 2013-2014 season. The championship will take place from the 12th - 23rd August 2013 in Carlow.

All 80 members countries of the international Billiards and Snooker Federation will be invited to send players to compete in the championship. These players will be backed up by referees, delegates, coaches and supporters from each country, which would usually boost the travelling contingent to the 300 mark.

Spectators are welcome each day free of charge. "

Anyone going?

(Are they really right that the winner will have a place on the Tour for 2013-2014 ? Previously places from the IBSF Under 21 have been for the following year).

by the time this tournament is over The Wuxi Classic and the Aussie open will have been and gone and probably qualifying for the shanghai masters would be over.

seems very unfair on the winner of this tournament.
