British Women's Open 2025

Postby gninnur karona

Final between Ng On Yee and Mink Nutcharut Wongharuthai. Ng On Yee break of 51 in the opener leads one frame to nil.

Couple of surprising results in the quarters. Narucha Phoemphul beat Reanne Evans 3-0 and Rebecca Kenna beat Bai Yulu by the same score.

Mink Nutcharut Wongharuthai first in in frame four. Looking good but loses position and breaks down on 45. Bit scrappy then Ng On Yee comes to the table five reds left. Develops the second last red but awkward on the blue and it stays out. Mink Nutcharut Wongharuthai cannot conclude the frame immediately but Ng On Yee cannot lay a telling snooker and eventually Mink Nutcharut Wongharuthai seals frame four to trail 1-3.

Ng On Yee in first. Needs a second chance. 44 break just one red short of reaching the snookers required stage but has lost position. No matter here's her chance. No. Mink Nutcharut Wongharuthai red black red black and lays a dastardly snooker. Ng On Yee escapes second time. Leaves the red on. Just the blue difficult. Comes down to that blue. Ng On Yee is faced with a tempter. No. Mink Nutcharut Wongharuthai clears up. 2-3.

Tessa Davidson in the commentary box since the middle of frame four has been absolutely excellent.

Sixteen 50+ breaks in the tournament so far, seven from Ng On Yee including the only century a 113, but surprisingly none from British players - Tessa Davidson the nearest with a 49 during the group stage.

Momentum with Mink Nutcharut Wongharuthai. Down to the colours Ng On Yee needs three snookers. They trade snookers and Ng On Yee concedes. 3-3. Decider. Which I will catch up on later!
