Duane Jones seeding after the Group stage is a disappointment and he could face Gareth Allen in the last 16 if both goes through that it.

This is a route on to the main tour for players but some of the main contenders like Robin Hull would he be interested considering he has quit the tour twice before.

and hes playing Denmarks Daniel Kandi in the last 32 who has a successful career away from Snooker http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daniel_Kandi so if he won a place on the main tour would he be interested.

Yes, for some of the players it's about getting on the Pro Tour, for some it's about being European Champion.

Given that World Snooker have turned down the runner-up in the past when they've been nominated, no point really someone saying no thanks to a place - if they're not going on the Tour full-time, can still enter whatever tournaments they fancy over the next couple of years ... not sure Borg would take up a place full time either, probably a few more like that.

And what about younger players who are still in school - 15 year old Mateusz Baranowski is quite a talent, looks like he may get the better of the experienced George Louka (leading 3 - 1)

Only top Pole Michał Zieliński made the top 16 seeds, but a whole raft joining him in the Last 32, only the relatively inexperienced Patryk Masłowski lost, with the Baranowski / Louka result still to come, the experienced Wróbel, Kowalski and Nitschke being joined by 'young guns' Filipiak, Biernadski, Stefanów and Zubrzycki.

yes its a big tournament in it own right its not all about the Professional Game 2 Welshmen springs to mind Terry Parsons and Alwyn Lloyd 2 of the greatest Welsh players of all time that had no interest what so ever to follow Ray Reardon and Terry Griffiths on to the pro game and just continued in the amateur ranks for years.

Maybe if the winner or runner up doesn't want to take the pro place then the European board will get to nominate someone as per last year with Drago and Brecel.

it won't be Drago as hes still on the tour. Maybe Roy would be better placed to suggest a nomination if it ca.e to that. I guess its more likely that they would go for a mainland Europe player rather than a brit.

The player I'd LIKE to see on the Pro Tour to see how he did is Michał Zieliński, always does pretty well in these competitions and most consistently competitive of the Poles despite his relatively young age (20), given the support for the game in Poland really need one of their players to be on the Tour.

I can see some justification in keeping a market, so having a Maltese player on tour. Brian Cini from Malta really not ready for it, although he potentially is 'a young player with a future'. Let Duncan Bezzina have a go instead? He's 32.

The problem is that Q School was supposed to get foreign players involved, even if they lose they get to see the standard they need. Problem is, most aren't coming. Alexander Ursenbacher was it - none of the good Polish players, no Lukas Kleckers from Germany, no Cini, Sascha Ruberg, Andreas Ploner, Georgi Velichkov etc. ... and that's just the European players ...
