Seriously? <doh>

If that's the case it's a worthless event (from a ranking standpoint) designed to make players chase the max instead of the win.

That's not professional snooker it's an exhibition.

Oh well, if they want to do this for exhibitions it'll draw some viewers so a plus from that side even if it's not a serious event.

Or a game with Witz

Re: General Cup

Postby Wildey

players that don't reach the final or get a max will be out of pocket seriously with this event but go there they are.

the 12,000 for the max would be better spent either add to the price pot or pay appearance fee for the players that went there.

im totally against throwing money on one frame of snooker in events like this.

"events like this"

dont u mean all events?

or were you on the opposite side of the fence to Monique on the 147 prize v a fund for the young players instead :chin:

£4,000 for the winner in an event like this is a total joke though

Why play boring to win when you can lose in an entertaining manner  if you happen to win its a bonus :phew:

Re: General Cup

Good streaming Ricky currently 2-0 up against Sangnil

Re: General Cup

Postby Monique

MSI Ricky 4-0 Sangnil.
Ricky playing well but no pressure. Sangnil safety is inexistent.

Re: General Cup

Postby Monique

Ricky wins 5-0 with an excellent 128. Shot on the last red with position on the yellow was beauty!

WOW i missed any action but im currently watching a Table and the streaming and clearness of the picture is absolutely brilliant and shows what can be done.

Re: General Cup

They should have more events in South Korea then because that's the internet capital of the world. They love it so much down there they let real kids starve to death in order not to let their cyber kids starve.

Stephen Lee vs Tom Ford about to start

Re: General Cup

Postby Wildey

well Stephen Lee wont be making a 147 missing blacks like that <laugh>

holy rubbish it made the burnett black look like he was snookered.

Re: General Cup

Postby Wildey

the way they have broken off in this match you get the feeling they trying to set up a 147 for their opponent and share the cash.

Re: General Cup

Postby Monique

That's 4-0 for Stephen Lee against Tom Ford. The way he plays you wonder how it comes that he didn't qualify for Australia.

yes you took the words right out of my mouth...

but you can only play as well as your opponent lets you and obviously Barry Pinches dug his heels in.

Indeed, and they all have bad days in office. I wasn't suggesting any foul play. It's just that Ben had told us how well he played in practice and I was surprised he lost.

Re: General Cup

Lee wins 5-0.
Shot to bring the yellow in pottable position and shot from green to yellow were awesome.

Re: General Cup

Postby Roland

Pinches is one of Lee's bogeymen apparently or whatever the word is for someone worse than you who always beats you like MJA and Hendry. Nope, can't think of the word...

Re: General Cup

Postby Monique

Ricky Walden 2-0 Marco Fu
Ok while streaming was down Ricky won frame 2 with a 111 ...

Re: General Cup

Postby Roland

nemesis

Re: General Cup

Postby Monique

3-0 To Ricky vs Marco now. Marco at the table in frame 4

Re: General Cup

Postby Monique

Marco Fu takes frame 4. It's Ricky Walden 3-1 Marco Fu

Re: General Cup

Postby Monique

And he steals the 5th also. Ricky 3-2 Marco

Re: General Cup

Postby Monique

General Cup: That's 3 in a row for Marco Fu who wins the scrappy 6th and it's now Ricky Walden 3-3 Marco Fu.

Re: General Cup

Postby Wildey

ive got a hopelessly slow connection at the moment so have switched it off was freezing most other windows.

Re: General Cup

Postby Monique

General Cup. And Marco makes it 4 in a row. Ricky 3-4 Marco. Both missing some sitters there but Ricky has lost his fluency completely

Re: General Cup

Postby Monique

General Cup: Ricky forces a decider with a quickfire century (100). It's 4-4 ...

Re: General Cup

Postby Monique

General Cup: Ricky wins the decider - very tense - and will meet Stephen Lee in the final tomorrow.
