I'm fairly sure Steve Davis hasn't actually answered a question of Hazel's/Rishi's in about 5 years.

Ronnie flukes a red but misses the black. I think he's scared of Carter

Its a risky strategy that ronnie wont be buying.

But for how long? Ronnie could just have another burst after the MSI.

Ronnie not at his best so far. He will probably have his good session tonight, so I would be OK with 4-4.

Alex Higgins!
Now there was a true genius, and a real character, unlike O'Sullivan.

They are discussing Alex Higgins, and still mention Naughty Snooker.

Yes, O'Sullivan knocked in an excellent century break, before getting bogged down with Carter's dull tactical play.

It's all about frames won, not style played.

I seen enough in the first 4 frames to know Ronnie will walk away with this. Carter can't keep turning down the shots he is doing - he needs to score better but he can't do that either.

I don't know if it's just me, but I'm finding this rather intriguing so far. Granted it's not thrilling but it's worked well so far this tournament.

I'm enjoying it as well. A few scrappy frames don't hurt, although if the next thirty were it wouldn't be good.

I'm a bit surprised that Ali has kept it this close, I expected it to be 4-0 to Ronnie now.
Just as I said that, Ali misses an easy red.

Carter misses on 42. That was a good chance to go 3-2 up.

That's the problem for Ali, he can keep Ronnie out by playing negative safety but he is always likely to miss when in.
