But Robertson vs Jones and Mags vs Stevens is a good couple of semis, for me.

True enough.
Besides, you're playing people good enough to knock top-16ers out in the first round. So not mugs.

It also happened this year. Maguire beat only qualifiers so far.

Jones pulls a frame back, 6-5. Carter just can't get that 3 frame cushion. There are sign that this could be Jamie's tournament ...

I love watching Jamie Jones play. He plays without fear and doesn't make compromises just because it's a quarter final of the World Championship. Also his will and determination to win is quite remarkable.

That was simply awesome from JJ. Two consecutive total clearances and in some style. What a player!

I hope Jones won't pull a Liang Wenbo after this year's World Championship. He's 24, he's still young but he has to push on and get into the top 16 as soon as possible.

Without meaning to get carried away with the hype, has Jamie Jones got any chance of pulling a Shaun Murphy and winning the World Title as a qualifier?

This would have been a great match had it been between Jones and Trump. The ultra-negative play of Carter tends to drag the match down a bit.

It wasn't that shot it was the one before. Green was the shot there but he lost the white with the cannon to pink.

Session finishes 9-7 to Carter.
Jones made two total clearances and looked the stronger player for much of the session but has to settle for a 4-4 share of the frames played.

you have to say we will pretty much know who the winner of this tournament is going to be by tonight maybe even before the evening session
i still make ronnie favourite to edge past robertson 7-9 at the end of the session is ok but i can see him going 9-7 up

The first frame of the Robbo v Ronnie is huge. If Neil takes it I expect him to nurse the lead throughout the session.

Yes the first one is a big one. But Robbo can't afford trying to protect a lead against a player like Ronnie because if he for example turns down difficult long pots it will only favour Ronnie.

ronnie is capable of winning three or four frames really quickly he playing well enough to do that
yesterday was a 4-4 session apart from the blue ronnie miss when he thought the frame was safe that all it come down to
the red he miss before with the rest was missable but enjoy the remainder of today because the second semi final and final are going to be one sided as a spectacle not much to see
theres no guarantee the first semi final is going to be close either but maguire v carter should be a good choke fest if carter make it through and their match stays close

rubbish, I really should proof-read. Especially when I am doing this on the sly at work and am being distracted. I knew what I meant.
