His only chance is to get an easy draw like the worst world champ Robbo.
2002 EBDON
2006 DOTT
2010 JONO
the cycle in the 21st century is that every 4 years there is an snooker winner of the worlds so 2014 probably Selbys best chance
I thought you liked Ebdon. Anyway Higgins isn't 'snooker' and neither was Hendry.

Robbo couldn't be that lucky twice.
Most likely he will get knocked out in the first or second round again.
Name a qualifier that match Robbo. Plus he's got Gould, which is a virtual walkover.

Selby's problem is that he lets himself get behind in too many matches before he plays his best. You cannot win the world title doing that consistently.

Edbon is shadow of his former self, and Robbo has beaten him before. Plus he won't succumb to Ebdon's tactics now, his game has matured a lot.

Yes, but Selby isn't ever going to be a John Higgins MBE, or a Stephen Hendry MBE(or is it an OBE)?
How the hell is that chavvy 'Taffie' an MBE? Mark J something or other?
