It's a bit much to suggest Baird could get in the top 32 with one more season - don't forget he lost to Selby playing as bad as he can possibly play. Sam can obviously play, so can Adam Wicheard but they are both way off being top 32 players at this moment in time. There are so many players out there as good as or better than them who are not top 64.

Baird has already qualified for two venues. He only lost yesterday because of his inexperience. If he had another he would have more experience. If he keeps reaching the last 32, he should be a top 32 player.

Yes, read that a few moments ago and was very very surprised by that post-match interview from Ronnie.... if he carries on in that right frame ofmind, he´ll certainly be hard to stop... And like it was said in another topic, what other player says he needs to win a tournament to stay in the top 16 or whatever, and really goes on to win it...??
Wish him all the best for this tourney, even if it means having a more difficult draw in the Worlds.

BBC continuing to follow the match? Hope the schedulers are feeling alright.
Edit: Darren Morgan getting the Shootout and Power Snooker mixed up
Shows you how much players and pundits really value these events.

BBC Wales behaving much better than BBC 1 or 2 which nowadays barely shows their tournaments with their crap schedule...

Good logic but I've just check and both he and Adam Wicheard are ranked in the 80s so that shows you how far they normally progress. Like I said, way off being top 32 players.

Matthew Stevens winning a decider?
Edit: Nevermind. Break ended at 60. Business as usual.

Good match between Stevens and Hawkins. Hawkins had his chances but Stevens was slightly better.

Matthew Stevens - now there's a case study.
Popular win from the local lad. Just one of those players who should look at himself and ask "why have I never been world number 1 and champion?. I know the lad has some battle scars from the game and from life (who hasn't?), but with his talent shouldn't he really be doing better than last 16 and occasional quarter finals? Admittedly he's been doing better since more tournaments were introduced so maybe the rise is slow, but this is a player who should be going into tournaments thinking "no-one is better than me' co technically no-one is...

Credit has already been given to him. Everyone has already moved on. Anyway you know what Stevens is like with false dawns. He could go back to playing crap against Maguire.
